1. How come the video I
purchased does not work with my computer?
The following contains info
about playing My videos – BUT THERE IS INFORMATION BEYOND THAT
INCLUDED WITHIN!
So even if you already think
you know the best ways to view My content, read this anyway. I
may have some exciting information for you.
I’ll just jump right in...
The majority of computers
assembled during and post 2006 will be capable of playing the
high quality, high-definition content that I currently produce.
I usually deliver that
content in MPEG or WMV, rendered at either 1440 x 1080 (1.333)
or 1920 by 1080 (1=1 square pixels). It all depends on which HD
camera I have decided to record with and what level of software
is required to reach My goal.
I usually render My videos to
play above a 9 megabyte per second data rate. Digital artifacts
– the crap that makes highly compressed videos look like crap –
is something I do not wish to incorporate into My works. Casual
eyes would perhaps not even notice this artifacting, but MINE
DO.
On that note, please do not
offer opinions or advice concerning My technical decisions. I
know quite well what I am doing.
I have been recording HD
content from the time of Sony’s HDR-HC1. I have graduated the
line in cameras, brands, drivers, codecs, quantizations,
interfaces, formats, etc. I take financial risks to assure that
I am using much of the highest prosumer technology available.
There are no unintentional
gaps in My knowledge, usage, or decisions.
From the software end, the
process has become much simplified during the past three years,
but rendering HD content remains a time consuming,
project-dependent, and wholly subjective trial/error task. This
is especially true for the precision-oriented manner in which I
proceed.
Be aware that I will now be
recording using H.264 w/& the maximum bitrate of AVCHD. In My
opinion, it has now superseded HDV. So DO NOT EVEN DARE test Me
with bright ideas about how I “should” go about doing things. If
you know anything about video production, then you know to what
pains I am going to ensure the very best reaches My current and
soon-to-be slaves.
ON THE SUNNY SIDE!!!
You may be happy to know that I have very great deal of HD video
material recorded, material that I chosen to hold back from
release. Realize that I shall be doing so in a timely manner.
Over the past couple of years, I have merely trickled a video,
here and there, out to the public. Never fear, that is about to
change.
What would you think if I
told you I’m holding onto five 45+ minute HD videos?
And what if I told you that those are just the bigger guns in My
arsenal?
Yes, I have a multitude more; oodles of 40, 30, 20, and 10
minute videos that’ll shoot you up, just the same.
Did I mention the several
hours’ worth of mp3’s? No? Well then, there you are.
SO...
Understand that I am not one to subvert My Own sense of
self-respect to hasten the flow of a quick few dollars.
Financial gain did not draw Me to this fetish. My presence in
Hypnodomination far precedes what you may be aware of as the
wave of “Insta-Dommes.”
Listen up: I consider My
material quite special. I do not wish to make it any easier for
the plagiarists and the file-sharers to enjoy My works. Only now
are the available software tools for content and piracy
protection becoming adequate to serve My needs. This is why you
shall soon be able to purchase more and more materials from Me.
Back to playing My HD
Content:
Some of you may experience My
videos as appearing “dark” on your media player. This type of
phenomena is no accident. The video is in fact not dark. It is
loaded with color. What is occurring is that your media player
is not performing gamma correction. The “darkness” is simply due
to My unwillingness to digitally over-expose, or “wash out,” the
video image.
THE GAMMA MONSTER!
This is an easy fix.
Do this: acquire a good media
player.
For slower computers, the very best will be Zoom Player, by
Inmatrix. Yes, it’s free.
VLC Player is also capable of
gamma adjustment – just like Zoom Player. Yet contrary to
popular opinion, My observations lead Me to believe that VLC
does not have the stability of, and lacks the ergonomic power of
Zoom Player.
So...
In Zoom Player, VLC, or any adequate media player of your
choice, open your options menu. That would be the big options
menu. Expand it and go ADVANCED. This opens options that may be
hidden from you for no sensical reason.
Now on your end, your duty:
learn how to play your video using your computer’s “Overlay
Mixer.” Chances are that you probably do have one of these.
When you get a working
knowledge of Zoom Player (OR) VLC’s advanced menus, you will be
able to customize your machine to play just about any content
that comes your way.
INTERLACING
Look it up if you need to.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interlacing
Your computer may lag, as
even powerful machines can, due to INTERLACING problems.
You should learn about interlacing and deinterlacing and how
these terms apply to your computer. It is a very easy concept
with a fast implementation curve.
Do not let trial-n-error
daunt you. Learning and usage take only a few (& sometimes a few
more) minutes. This will help you immensely, and shall aid you
in all areas of computer life.
NOTE: When interlacing
settings are not optimized on a slow machine, even videos that
have already been rendered as deinterlaced & optimized can cause
your computer to cough, sputter, and crash.
DOUBLE NOTE: the more advanced your de-interlacer, the more the
strain shall be on your computer.
On a weak machine, less is
more. None is immaculate.
But...but...my problem is
totally diff—
Yes, I know; frequently the audio will continue to play long
after the video has vanished or frozen. This does not mean that
My video is faulty. This means your machine is probably not
optimized.
Here’s a quick tip sheet.
Slow machine = disable deinterlacing!!!
Slow machine = use overlay mixer!!!
Dark picture = adjust gamma in a good media player!
Very slow machine = disable
everything you can except the overlay mixer.
Remember!!!!
GAMMA is your FRIEND!
GAMMA is what shall make My videos pop out for you.
GAMMA is different for everyone, and is dependent upon your
machine and monitor, and is why I do not over-expose My videos.
GAMMA is something that you can control, but not with weak or
lame media players.
Adjust your GAMMA!
GAMMA!
GAMMA!!!
And take heed: VLC does not
always apply your changes. VLC will eventually default. It will
default no matter what pains you take to stop it from doing
otherwise.
Zoom Player’s site,
Inmatrix.com, has very helpful FAQ’s and info to help you adjust
yourself to becoming a neophyte videophile.
Worst case scenario: Your
computer is running out of RAM. This is a whole another jungle.
I’ve seen people running XP on 3 gigs of RAM reporting weakened
computing problems.
Slaves, 3 gigs of ram is far more than enough. It’s more than
what I was previously using to MAKE the videos.
If 3 gigs is not enough RAM to play My content on your computer,
then you have a computing problem. Seek technical assistance or
otherwise self-educate. Here is a good self-education site,
laden with tools (used to be free, some aspects may still be
that way) to help you along the way: www.pcpitstop.com
I’ll have another forum up
soon. Then you can discuss amongst yourselves. I know some of
you are highly adept at this sort of thing, and it is only a few
of you guys having problems. So, you nerds, perhaps you can be
of service to My less technically savvy, but equally deserving
subs.
Good luck and godspeed.
2. For some reason the file
is not at the location i was sent to what should i do?
This is a common technical
error and you should write a polite email to Me about the issue.
My email-
moh@mistressofhypnosisdotorg
Emails will be answered
accordingly. Do not send multiple emails.
3. Do you do real-time
sessions?
No, I do not.
4. i am trying to view the
video samples, but the page isn't loading...what should i do?
Try a different browser.
Mozilla Firefox is one alternative.
